flay_paper_aircraf_image
TYPES OF PAPER TO USE
For this the aircraft you can use quarto (or A4, 210 x 297 mm) or foolscap paper.
Make sure you use thin but strong paper. Never use anything like newspaper, which is not strongly bonded and therefore cannot hold a fold. If the pape ris too heavy, it might inhibit the more complicated.
1- Use a sheet of A4 or foolscap paper. Remember, when making any dart, creasefold the paper in half first. Foldthe top corners down.image_paper_aircraf_construction_etap12- Fold in the sides, making sure points A and B meet each other at the centre crease.
3- Fold in points C and D. the top two edges should meet each other at the centre crease.
4- Mountain fold the model in half
5- Fold the wings down to meet the bottom edge of the fuselage.
6- The completed dart. Curl the tail section up slightly for lift if necessary . if model is too light, inverse fold the nose by about 2 cms.

origami_paper_aircraf_construction_etap6THROWING SUGGESTIONS
- Throw with gentle force at approximately 30 to 40 degrees in an upward direction.
Because of its length, this dart should prove accurate in meeting its target.

image_simplest_fuse_box_origamiThis box is one of the simplest fuse box Japanese origami , and a classic of economy and efficiency . you may feel that you need an extra pair of hands towards the end, but the model is perfectly achievable. You’ll need four colours (or four of different colours).

fuse_box_size_pic
1- Start with a square, lighter side upwards, and crease in half.fuse_box_origami_step_image

2- Fold the top edge to the centre crease. Turn the paper over.

3- Fold in half from side to side, crease and unfold, turn the paper over again

4- Crease the lower right diagonal and unfold .

5- Fold the lower left corner to the centre.

6- Une the creases shown to form the paper into three dimensions. You’ll need to pinch the upper third of the centrecreases into a valley.

7- Swing the triangular flap downwards to finish the unit. Then make three more.

8- Arrange two units as shown and slide thern partially into each other. Follow the while arrows carefully to see which flap slides where.

How to create a TARUMPTY TUM TUM Japanese master origami designe

image_japanese_master_simple_origami_designe
This model is by the japanese master of simple prigami designe. Takekawa , if blanced on one end, with the heavier side upwards, i twill turn a full somersault when tipped over. You can play an origami game by showing friends how the model tips, then asking them to try for themselves. The trick is to place the model with its lighter end upwards : it won’t somersault from that position and only the most observant poeple will guess why.

1- Start with a square of paper. Fold it in had hom top to bettom, then unfold.
step_by_step_to_create_japanese_origami_pic
2- Fold the upper side to the centre, crease and unfold.

3- Fold the lower side to the centre, and turn it in place.

4- Fold in two comers to line up along the coloured raw edge.

5- Repeat with the two original corners, folding to the crease.

6-Fold the top and bottom sections in half. Hold the corners in place so they don’t pop out as you fold.

7- The heavier side, with extra layers of paper, is markedhere. Fold the side ends to meet in the centre. You’re folding on hidden layers and will be able to feel where the paper naturally folds.

8- Open out these two flaps so they are at right angles to the central section.

9- The finished model, ready to somersault.

Origami paper : Waterbomb Fish

origami_fish
With one extra crease, the humble waterbomb base transforms into an angelfish. With a couple more, it becomes a tradtional fish. These are the types of fold that poeple discover through playing with the paper, looking for logical folds to make, and using their imagination. With many tens of thousands of folders in the world, it follows that several poeple are likely to rediscover the same design. While it’s always disappointing to find out that your wonderful creation isn’t quite as unique as you had hoped, you shouldn’t let this upset you too much. The idea came from your own creativity and it’s not surprising that you should share similar approaches with other poeple.

1- Start with a waterbomb base ( see reminder panel, left), folded with the coloured step_orgami_fish_imageside outwards. Unfold and turn to the coloured side. Make a fold that passes through the centre of the square, arranged so that the lower vertical crease meets the upper right diagonal crease.

2- This is the resut unfold the paper.

3- Re-form the waterbomb base.

4- Swivel the upper triangle to the right and upwards, while keeping the lower triangle stil. You’re aiming to fold on the crease you made in step1.

5- Here’s the result, a simple, elegant angelfish.

6- To continue, fold the large, upper flap to the right, so that the raw edges lie horizontally and pass cver the nose of the fish.
7- Then fold the tail fin up over the same flap. Repeat the last two steps on the side underneath.

8- The completed waterbomb fish.

The origami ; how to make a SINK

A sink is typically applied to a ‘closed’ corner point (i.e. one formed with folded edges only). The section of paper above the sink line disappears completely into the paper. Linke reverse folding, this is a technique that often confuses beginners, but is shouldn’t present a problem if you pre-crease accurately and fold carefully. The hard part is to get the creases inside the sink to lie neatly. If you are folding foil paper, this can almost impossible. 5 you may be lucky enough to come across a double sink, where the paper goes in, then comes partially out again ! )

origami_corner_point_image
1- This is the way a sink is usually indicated.

2- Pre-crease a valley where the ‘sink line’ will be. Open the paper out to the white side.

3- Change all similar creases to valleys, where necessary.

4- Form the paper into a 3-D shape, turning it upside down .

5- Start to press in the centre. Whether a crease on the outside is a valley or a mourtain, make sure that i sis the opposite on the inside. So, for example, the outside section from the corner is a mountain, but as it passes the sink line it becomes a valley. Fold carefully and don’t force the paper.

6- Complete the sink.
